Quality Assurance - Lead (Healthcare)
The Lead Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to spearhead the testing and reliability of our Treasury Management solutions tailored for healthcare clients. This role is responsible for ensuring the seamless, bug-free operation of Java-based applications that bridge the gap between complex hospital revenue cycles and core banking platforms.
- QA Strategy & Leadership: Define the end-to-end testing strategy for Java-based treasury applications, including manual, automated, regression, and integration testing phases.
- Test Automation Development: Design, build, and maintain robust automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, or TestNG) specifically for Java environments to increase testing velocity and coverage.
- Integration & API Testing: Validate complex "handshakes" between banking portals and external healthcare systems, including:
- Electronic Health Records (EHR) (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Practice Management Systems and Billing/ERP platforms (Oracle, Workday).
- Treasury Domain Validation: Lead the functional testing of critical healthcare financial workflows, including:
- Lockbox services and Integrated Receivables.
- ACH, Wire payments, and ISO 20022 messaging.
- Merchant services and Remote Deposit Capture (RDC).
- Compliance & Security Testing: Ensure all applications meet rigorous HIPAA, SOC2, and PCI-DSS standards, focusing on the protection of Protected Health Information (PHI) within financial transactions.
- Defect Management & Triage: Lead defect triage sessions with developers and product owners; perform root cause analysis on production issues and ensure proper escalation within Agile/Waterfall streams.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary QA point of contact for healthcare clients, technical vendors, and internal technology partners during large-scale implementations.
- Environment & Data Management: Oversee the creation of "sanitized" test data that mimics complex healthcare billing scenarios without exposing real patient information.
- Seniority: 7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, with at least 2+ years in a Lead capacity.
- Technical Stack: Strong proficiency in Java and experience testing Java-based enterprise applications.
- Automation Expertise: Proven experience with automation tools (Selenium, REST Assured, Appium) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab).
- Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of Treasury Management (ACH, Wires, Cash Management) and/or Healthcare Revenue Cycle operations.
- Integration Skills: Hands-on experience testing APIs (Swagger/Postman) and data interfaces between disparate systems.
- Testing Rigor: Mastery of test case development, UAT coordination, and tools like Jira, ServiceNow, or ALM/Octane.
- Compliance Awareness: Working knowledge of healthcare privacy (HIPAA) and banking regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a retail bank’s Treasury or Healthcare business unit.
- Familiarity with healthcare-specific file formats (e.g., HL7, 835/837 remittance files).
- Experience with Performance Testing (JMeter) or Security/Penetration testing basics.
