Pega Lead System Architect (LSA) - Payments
Role Overview
The Pega Lead System Architect (LSA) role adds enterprise technical leadership, architectural oversight, complex problem resolution, guidance and support for technical teams, code and design reviews, and use of modern principles, methodologies, and tools to advance financial operations and dispute management initiatives. Lead Pega LSA with deep architectural expertise, enterprise framework customization experience, and rigorous technical leadership.
Creates and leads the enterprise technical design, scalability planning, and overarching architecture of Pega-based payment solutions, specifically leveraging Pega Smart Investigate for Payments (PSI). Proposes & designs robust software solutions to address complex banking operational needs and high-volume transaction scaling. Prepares enterprise technical and architectural documentation required. Facilitates complex problem resolution across distributed enterprise integrations, database optimizations, and high-load frameworks. Provides technical guidance and mentorship to development teams and architects. Reviews enterprise design patterns, code, testing strategies, and technical documentation. Applies modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance payment processing capabilities, system resilience, and architectural governance.
Customer Focused - Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized banking solutions.
Managing Risk - Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with enterprise architecture, secure data transmission, and high-volume transaction processing to ensure they adhere to and support the company's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- 10+ Years of overall IT experience with 7+ years specializing in Pega design, architecture, and implementation, preferably in a large banking / financial institution environment focusing on payment exception processing.
Active Pega Certified Lead System Architect (LSA) certification
Pega Inifinity / Constellation Experience
Deep expertise in Pega Smart Investigate for Payments (PSI) framework architecture and customization
Enterprise Application Architecture and Design Patterns
Performance Tuning, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies
Complex Enterprise Integrations (REST, SOAP, MQ, Kafka)
Process Improvement
