Role Overview
The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure, automation, and release processes that support high‑availability, secure, and scalable applications. This role owns the end‑to‑end release management lifecycle, leads Linux server build and configuration efforts, and drives continuous improvement across CI/CD, observability, and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities 
Infrastructure & System Engineering
  • Build, configure, and harden Linux servers (RHEL, Ubuntu, or similar) for production and non‑production environments.
  • Manage system-level services, kernel tuning, storage, networking, and performance optimization.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Support hybrid or cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  •  Release & Deployment Management
  • Own the release management process, including planning, versioning, tagging, packaging, and deployment coordination.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Ensure consistent, repeatable, and automated deployment workflows across environments.
  • Partner with engineering, QA, and product teams to ensure smooth, predictable releases.
Automation & Tooling
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and operational tasks to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
  • Maintain configuration management frameworks and enforce environment consistency.
  • Develop scripts and tooling (Python, Bash, Go, or similar) to support operational efficiency.
  •  Security, Compliance & Reliability
  • Implement and maintain security best practices across servers, pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Support patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance initiatives (SOC2, ISO, PCI, etc.).
  • Build and maintain observability stacks (logging, metrics, tracing) using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, or Datadog.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and incident response, driving root-cause analysis and long-term fixes.
Collaboration & Leadership
  • Serve as a senior technical resource and mentor for DevOps and engineering team members.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve deployment velocity, system resilience, and operational maturity.
  • Document standards, runbooks, and architectural patterns.
 Required Qualifications/Skills 
  • 5–8+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Deep expertise with Linux administration, including system builds, package management, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, release orchestration, and deployment automation.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
  • Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar).
  • Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of networking, DNS, load balancing, and security fundamentals.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with service mesh, secrets management, or zero-trust architectures.
  • Background in high-availability, distributed systems, or microservices environments.
  • Familiarity with GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Flux).
  • Prior leadership or mentorship experience.
  • Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government).
